Review: ‘Salem’s Lot, by Stephen King

This is an early book by Stephen King and when I read that it was his take on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, I thought — why not? But it’s not King’s best effort (he improved as a writer), it’s very, very long, and the Kindle edition these days is padded out with lots of material that didn’t make it into the original book. Like a “director’s cut”, but for books. Unnecessary, in my opinion. Still, the man knew (and still knows) how to tell a story.
