Review: Titanium Noir, by Nick Harkaway

Imagine if Raymond Chandler wrote near-future science fiction. That pretty much sums up this book. A detective who helps the police but is not a part of the police, with incredible fighting skills and a vast network of characters around him, most of whom despise him. And a girl — there’s always a girl. In this near future, in an imaginary city, some people have received a gene treatment that turns them into Titans. Meaning that they become bigger and stronger than ordinary humans and, I almost forgot, they’re immortal. It’s a great read and I was delighted to learn that a sequel is coming out in April 2025.
