Review: Behind Her Eyes, by Sarah Pinborough

For anyone looking for a version of Gone Girl set in North London, this is not the book for you. Or maybe it is — the first half, I mean. Because this a clever book that begins in one genre and finishes in another, and it’s only because I stupidly read an interview with the author before I read the book that prepared me for that possibility.

Everyone is talking about how the book ends, but what remains after finishing it, and digesting the ending, is a sense of what a very good story teller Sarah Pinborough is. I will say no more – just read this book if you like a good thriller, but don’t make the mistake of dozing off while reading it …
