{"id":730,"date":"2013-04-20T16:09:03","date_gmt":"2013-04-20T15:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ericlee.info\/blog\/?p=730"},"modified":"2013-04-20T16:09:03","modified_gmt":"2013-04-20T15:09:03","slug":"goodbye-goodreads-hello-librarything","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericlee.info\/blog\/goodbye-goodreads-hello-librarything\/","title":{"rendered":"Goodbye GoodReads, Hello LibraryThing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I like to keep a record of the books I&#8217;ve read, and like millions of others, have found online communities to be a good way of doing this.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, I&#8217;ve used two of these &#8211; GoodReads and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.librarything.com\">LibraryThing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I recently began using GoodReads more because it, unlike LibraryThing, had an app for my phone and tablet.<\/p>\n<p>But a couple of weeks ago, Amazon bought GoodReads &#8212; a good business move on their part.<\/p>\n<p>Now they can sell even more books to people, and to people who we know enjoy reading.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t boycott Amazon, despite all the terrible things they do, but if I have a choice, I take it.<\/p>\n<p>I just closed down my GoodReads account and have moved everything over to LibraryThing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I like to keep a record of the books I&#8217;ve read, and like millions of others, have found online communities to be a good way of doing this.
