Here’s what put a stop to that: I began marking the page where I felt for sure that I knew who the murderer was. And that began to happen earlier and earlier in the books. I felt like it was all a bit of a game, a game I was winning too easily, and so I just gave up. But recently having watched some of the 1974 film directed by Sidney Lumet — a film I have seen a number of times, and which is far superior to the 2017 version — I was tempted to try the book again. I was not disappointed. Even though I knew the story well, and could easily imagine the brilliant Albert Finney as Hercule Poirot with an all star cast, it was a thoroughly enjoyable story. Highly recommended.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Many, many years ago I read dozens of Agatha Christie’s novels.
