That pretty much sums up this book.  A detective who helps the police but is not a part of the police, with incredible fighting skills and a vast network of characters around him, most of whom despise him.  And a girl &#8212; there&#8217;s always a girl.  In this near future, in an imaginary city, some people have received a gene treatment that turns them into Titans.  Meaning that they become bigger and stronger than ordinary humans and, I almost forgot, they&#8217;re immortal.
